Danke für die Kurzfristige Spontanität. Das Auto war in einem Super Zustand. Wir wollten es gar nicht mehr zurück bringen. Leider haben wir vergessen das Fahrzeug komplett vollzutanken. Der Mitarbeiter war sehr höflich und meinte es sei kein Problem.
Danke viel mal für den Super Service.

Nachts um 23:30 haben wir einen nicht sehr motivierten und auskunftsfreudiegen Mitarbeiter getroffen. Das Wort Service kannte er nicht. Am nächsten Tag das extreme Gegenteil. Toller Service spaß bei der Arbeit, Humor und Kompetenz.

The Avis rental desk service was fine, but the rental car was not. The intermediate car turned out to be the tiny Mazda3. After driving the car out of the rental garage, the Low Oil Warning light came on. I checked the oil level on the dip stick, and it was down at least a quart. I could've added a quart and gone on my way, but I was worried about a breakdown later on the road hundreds of miles away. So, I returned the car to the Avis rental agency at Albuquerque Airport. In exchange, they gave me an Infiniti Q60 SUV, which was pretty impressive. I popped the hood to check the oil, which was at the proper full level. However, the antifreeze reservoir was empty, and two of the tires were badly worn. After I reached Santa Fe, I added antifreeze and aired up the tires to appropriate pressure. It is clear to me that Avis is not properly maintaining their vehicles. Luckily, we encountered no rain on our trip. Those tires may have hydroplaned in rain.

This was a disappointing car rental experience. The location didn't have nearly enough vehicles ready for the number of people with reservations. Customers were waiting outside in the hot sun for a car to be made available. I waited for an hour until my car was ready, only to find out that it had been double assigned. Another customer had been assigned the exact same vehicle, and he got there first once it was ready, so I had to get back in line to get a new assignment.

When I finally got a vehicle, the girl tank was nearly empty. I've never gotten a rental that didn't have a full fuel tank, but with this one, the low fuel light turned on a couple of miles into my trip. So I had to prioritize getting gas right at the beginning of my trip and ended up buying way more than I used.

I can't help but think that Avis charged some poor family $12/ gallon for bringing it back empty, but never actually put the gas in. Then I filled it, and Avis got that fuel they overcharged for for free.

Not a large selection of vehicles. They wouldn’t change my vehicle when I asked for something different than what was assigned. I was even willing to pay more and I’m also an Avis preferred member. Take pictures of rental before leaving most of there cars are scratched or dirty from the inside.

Long wait for service, despite having a reservation. Only 2 workers at counter, despite room for more. Got a vehicle for 3.5 days but was charged for 4 full days. Watch out: there's a $200-300 "security deposit" required at the counter, even if you've got a prepaid reservation*and* their $10/day additional insurance! Reserved a compact SUV but was given a huge 4x4, which I almost couldn't get up into (no step to help!), had to jump every time. Not at all good for arthritis!!! Plus the thing was so far outside our comfort zone that it was difficult to drive, difficult to park, & used 8 gallons of gas in 3 days! Definitely not worth it. Never again will I take such an"upgrade". It was terrible. Plus it didn't have modern safety features; blind spot monitoring would've been very helpful, as the thing's blind spot was huge. When we needed to return it, the directions led to the front door of the rental facility, not the return lot, too.

To clarify: this location serves several different car rental companies. My review applies to * Budget * , not any other!

This Avis location has a great car selection, and the staff are super friendly and helpful. From my experience with different Avis locations around the US, it's rare to meet employees who actually want you to be happy with your car and understand the stress of travel. They don't mind taking a few extra minutes to find a car that you really enjoy. The manager at this location is seriously one of the nicest people I've ever met, and he always makes sure we're happy with our rental. Other Avis locations could definitely learn from them.
